HypoActive is now accepting registrations for our five major summer events for 2009-10.   Why don't you add us to your calendar?

All our events are suitable for anyone: fast, slow, not very active, active, experienced or novice.   More importantly, each event gives you a chance to spend some quality time with other people living with type one diabetes.

February 12-14, 2010: AcT1vate!
A weekend for type one diabetics, dedicated to getting the most out of exercise.  This will be the first of its kind to be run in Victoria, with HypoActive partnering Diabetes Australia - Victoria.
We have already had a strong response to this event so far, but there is still time to register, which you can do here.
More information on the weekend is available here.

February 26-27, 2010: MS MegaSwim
The MS MegaSwim is a 24 hour swim relay at the Fitzroy outdoor pool and 2010 will be our fourth attempt.  The event raises money for the MS Society, and allows teams of up to 16 to swim in relay continuously for 24 hours.  You must be able to swim continuously for 200m, but thats about it!  Last year the HypoActive team swam an impressive 61.4km over the period.

March 14, 2010: Run for the Kids
Now in its fourth year, the Run for the Kids is a major fundraiser for the Royal Childrens Hospital.  It also has something for everyone: walks, short runs, or a 15km tough slog around the streets of Melbourne.
HypoActive plans to ramp up our presence at the 2010 Run, so we'd love to have you join us and wear the Insulin Injected Engine run singlet with pride!

March 27-27, 2010: Woody's Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay
2010 will mark the eighth attempt by a team consisting entirely of people with type one diabetes.  This is where HypoActive all began.  It is weekend of time in a bus, time on the bike, and time laughing about all sorts of stuff.  All levels of cycling fitness and ability are catered for in this event, and you will be challenged no matter what your status is.  If you have read about it, thought about it, and thought some more, then this is the year for you.  Come join us and contribute to another great year of cycling across western Victoria.

Frequently Asked Questions for all our events

1) Do I have to keep up with fast people?
No.  Each event allows you the opportunity to be challenged regardless of your fitness level or ability.  A certain amount of preparation is required, but there is no reason why you can't do it.  Seriously.
