When you have Type 1, Life's a Beach

Our February fun get-together is at the iconic and beautiful beach at Brighton. Affluent and hopefully salubrious, Brighton Beach can be enjoyed by everyone and is the perfect place for some Sunday morning exercise. There are kilometres of running, walking and cycling paths that wind their way through palm trees, gardens and open lawns. It's one of Melbourne's loveliest spots and there's nowhere quite like the beach to have fun in the middle of summer.

Everybody is welcome, regardless of fitness levels and you determine how far you want to run/walk/ride and how fast. The area is also perfect for bike riders who can pedal off along the Esplanade and return to join the group for morning tea. And as always you're welcome to just join the group once everyone's settled down for a milkshake or a muffin at North Point Cafe - everyone  is welcome, whether they exercise or not.

Refuelling is scheduled for North Point Cafe, right by the meeting point. They do fantastic food here. The breakfast menu has everything from eggs benedict to porridge. The pancakes look amazing.

As always, meeting is at 9.30 am (SHARP!). The car park is at the end of North Road (Bayside City Council Car Park designated B1) and the fee is around $4 per hour with a maximum charge of approximately $14 However you can park in Brandon Close on the left before the car park or in North Road both for free, but space is limited, and then it's a short two-minute walk to the meeting place.
