And End of Year HypoActive BBQ Brunch

Kevin Bartlett Reserve

The final Fun Run/Walk/Ride of the year promises, as always, to be a festive and grand get-together. Kevin Bartlett Reserve is both scenic and central, urban and a little wild. It's the perfect place to join other type 1's for a strenuous workout, a relaxing aerobic event, or just to catch up and chew the lipids over some gourmet diabetic food. Because this is also our annual Christmas BBQ Brunch. Once again John and Kerri Thompson have moved mountains to organise the HypoActive end of year feed.

Last year's successful type 1 Christmas event

The day starts with a meet at the usual time - 9.30 am (SHARP!) Kevin Bartlett Reserve is in Burnley, nestling neatly in a knee-bend of the Yarra. The Melway reference for the reserve is: page 59, B1. If you reach FR Smith Drive you'll find plenty of parking close to the sign for Collingwood City Soccer Club and you can see the sheltered BBQ area and playground equipment from there.‚Äč

It would be great if you could come along and join in with this, our last exercise event for the year, but if you can't then you're very welcome to come and join in the lavish spread put on by HypoActive and the hard work of John and Kerri (thanks guys). Bring the family or a friend: everyone is welcome to share.

Snags, the food of type 1 gods

HypoActive has had a busy and full year. There have been changes in key roles and we are about to launch another AcT1vate, a major organisational achievement as well as a life-changing event for those fortunate enough to be able to attend. Next year will be bringing new and very exciting events, some further afield than HypoActive's normal domain. So come along and join in, meet with other active type 1's, chat about your year and look forward with your peers to the next.

Type 1 chef on the run

If you think you can join us, please let John know here so that we can make sure there's plenty for you to eat.
